- 1. See any room for a 13" x 5" card in the A1200?
- 2. Who's going to pay $100 more for Zorro on a different card
- format?
- 3. There's no room in the A1200 bay for a proper Zorro
- interface, anyway.
- 4. The A1200's raw 68020 bus is faster than Zorro II.
- 5. You can't do proper CPU upgrades on Zorro, you can on the
- A1200's raw bus.
- 6. Zorro III requires 32-bit addressing, the A1200 has only
- 24-bit addressing.
- 7. The A1200's power supply can't drive a single Zorro card
- built to spec, not to mention what's really out there.
- 8. The basic A1200 doesn't have enough memory to support many
- of the things that live on expansion cards.
- 9. You can get expansion by adding a Zorro card box if you
- really want this done right on an A1200.
- 10. If you want full expansion capabilities, don't expect them
- in a cheap computer. That's how you get cheap computers.

- Cheap is as cheap does.

-
- Not even close. The 150 pin slot in the trapdoor is the 68EC020 bus
- and a few extra control signals. This has no relation to Zorro, though
- since it's in the same address space as Zorro II, you can use Zorro II
- type autoconfiguration on A1200 cards (a firmware issue, nothing
- related to the bus structure).
-
- >Feel free to get either the Micronik or Eagle Zorro slot adapters.
-
- Indeed.
